Holistic ME/CFS Management and Support

Do you feel exhausted, unable to recover from exertion, or struggle with persistent brain fog? Managing Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) requires a structured, symptom-sensitive approach.

At Evolving Pain, we understand the unique challenges of ME/CFS and provide compassionate, evidence-based care to help you navigate daily life. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists work with you to develop individualised management strategies that respect your energy limits and support your long-term well-being.

What is ME/CFS?

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex, multisystem illness that significantly impacts daily function. The key hallmark of ME/CFS is post-exertional malaise (PEM)—a worsening of symptoms after minimal physical or mental exertion.

Common symptoms of ME/CFS include:

  • Severe fatigue that is not relieved by rest.

  • Post-exertional malaise (PEM)—a delayed worsening of symptoms after activity.

  • Cognitive dysfunction, often referred to as “brain fog.”

  • Unrefreshing sleep and disrupted sleep patterns.

  • Dizziness, pain, immune dysfunction, and hypersensitivities (light, sound, chemicals, food).

ME/CFS symptoms vary in severity, with some individuals housebound or bedbound. While there is no cure, careful management can improve symptoms, stability, and quality of life.
