Neuropathic Pain
Support for Neuropathic Pain and Nerve-Related Conditions
Do you experience burning, tingling, shooting, or electric shock-like pain? Neuropathic pain occurs when nerves become injured or dysfunctional, sending maladaptive pain signals to the brain.
At Evolving Pain, we provide tailored treatment strategies to help people living with conditions like radiculopathy, sciatica, post-surgical nerve pain, post herpetic neuralgia, and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).

We recognise that neuropathic pain can significantly impact daily life, making movement, sleep, and even touch painful. Our team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists help you manage your pain, regain confidence in movement, and engage in meaningful activities without fear of worsening symptoms.
What is Neuropathic Pain?

Neuropathic pain is caused by damage or dysfunction of the nervous system, leading to abnormal pain signals. Unlike pain from a physical injury, neuropathic pain is often persistent and can occur even without a direct stimulus. Symptoms include:

-
Burning, stabbing, or electric shock-like sensations
-
Tingling, numbness, or hypersensitivity to touch
-
Pain from stimuli that typically don’t cause pain (e.g., light touch or clothing)
-
Weakness or loss of coordination in affected areas
Neuropathic pain can be caused by conditions such as diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), nerve compression (e.g., sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome), viral infections (postherpetic neuralgia from shingles), autoimmune diseases, surgery-related nerve damage, or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).

At Evolving Pain, we understand the complexity of neuropathic pain and take an evidence-based approach to improve function, comfort, and quality of life.
